Sitting on the Governor Otter’s desk are three names submitted by the Bonneville County Republican Central Committee to fill the vacancy in the State Senate for District 33. The vacancy is being created by the appointment of Bart Davis to be the US attorney for Idaho by the Trump administration. The Governor only has a limited time window to pick from the names submitted.

Here are the three candidates designated to replace Bart Davis:

Mark Fuller

Mark is the current chair of the Bonneville County Republican Central Committee and an attorney in Idaho Falls. According to his firm’s website, his practice focuses on Construction Law and Business Development as well as many other areas of law.

Representative Bryan Zollinger

Bryan Zollinger is the current State Representative for District 33 and is also an attorney in Idaho Falls. He practices with the firm Smith, Driscoll and Associates and was recently elected to the State House in 2016.

Tony Potts

Tony has run for a Bonneville County Commission seat in the past without success. He currently owns a company by the name of Key-In Property Management, LLC.

Governor Otter only has 15 days to make the decision on who he picks from the list of three. Given that the names were submitted on September 28th, the announcement could come at any time.
