President Donald Trump’s oldest son, Donald Trump Jr., is now involved in a divorce case. Trump Jr.’s wife, Vanessa, filed for divorce Thursday in New York City.
The filing was done so in the Manhattan Supreme Court and was done so in an uncontested proceeding – meaning that there is no legal or custody battle to be expected.
With an increasing amount of the public spotlight on Trump Jr., as well as President Trump himself, for new turns in the Russia investigation, the timing of this separation certainly raises questions.
Presumably getting in front of those speculative rumors and questions, the couple issued the following statement:
“After 12 years of marriage, we have decided to go our separate ways. We will always have tremendous respect for each other and our families. We have fire beautiful children together and they remain our top priority. We ask for your privacy during this time.” – Donald Trump Jr. and Vanessa Trump
Originally reported by New York Post Page Six, the story indicated that the couple has recently been struggling through various marital problems.
When asked to comment on the developing personal story, the White House declined to comment to any news organization.
Whether there is any relation between the separation of the two partners and the newly invigorated Russia probe is anyone’s guess.
